Echocardiography

This service provides complete evaluation of the heart, valves, and cardiac function through the use of 2-D and M-mode imaging with Doppler and color-flow ultrasound.

Complete 2D Echo - This is a non-invasive exam of heart chambers and valves utilizing ultrasound technology. Blood flow through the heart and across the valves is also evaluated with Doppler ultrasound. Cardiac function and integrity of the heart valves are determined with this test.

Stress Echo - This procedure is an exercise stress test of the heart. Accompanying echocardiographic images of the heart are obtained before and after exercise to asses contractility of the heart muscle. This test is used to screen patients for significant coronary artery disease.
