Even in the absence of disease, age causes changes to the heart that compromise its efficiency. Weems Pennington III, MD will discuss how this can affect quality of life.

ARMC is the only hospital in the area offering this new cardiac procedure. Through a simple needle stick in a leg vein, doctors can permanently close a hole in the heart. Cardiologist Weems Pennington III, MD will explain this exciting new procedure.
Cardiovascular Disease: The Basics

A heart healthy dinner is included.
Dr. Pennington will give us a simple overview of coronary artery disease, stroke and peripheral arterial disease. He will discuss the signs and symptoms to educate us as to what to do if we have any of the symptoms. He will also discuss what we can do to be sure our blood pressure and cholesterol are treated adequately to prevent problems in the future.

2011 Start! CSRA Heart Walk

The Start! CSRA Heart Walk is the American Heart Association's mission in action. This annual celebration promotes physical activity and heart healthy living in a fun, family environment. More than 3000 walkers are anticipated to participate in this non competitive 3.3 mile walk event. As our signature fundraising event, the Start! CSRA Heart Walk is raising critical dollars for the American Heart Association's lifesaving mission.
