Carolina Heart & Vascular Center Is Breaking Ground

The physicians and surgeons of Carolina Heart & Vascular Center perform groundbreaking procedures everyday. Now they are breaking ground on their new facility Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 12:30.

“We have been working with our builders, GMK Associates, Inc., on the design of this project for over a year,” said Carolina Heart & Vascular Center Administrator Joan Cundey. “Our goal with this facility is to afford an organized approach to all types of vascular diseases.”

Located at 161 Miracle Drive behind the Cancer Care Institute of Carolina in Aiken, SC, the 13,047 square-foot building will house the Center’s expanded evaluation areas and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. One of the highlights of the center will be a congestive heart failure clinic.

“The layout of the new center is ideal,” said Dr. Gregory Eaves of Carolina Heart & Vascular Center. “All patient waiting, evaluation and testing rooms are more spacious. The location of the physician and nurse charting areas will allow better access to exam rooms while optimizing patient privacy.”

Carolina Heart & Vascular Center offers the most comprehensive and progressive cardiac, thoracic and vascular services with the patient as the main goal.

“The folks at Carolina Heart & Vascular Center care about the community,” said Aiken Mayor Fred B. Cavanaugh. “They provide excellent heart care and education to Aiken and Barnwell, SC.”

“The physicians and surgeons of Carolina Heart & Vascular Center are team players,” said the President of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce Charlie Weiss. “They not only support local medical associations such as Mended Hearts, Inc. and Aiken Women’s Heart Board, but they are also members of the Chamber of Commerce.”

The physicians and staff of Carolina Heart & Vascular Center will remain at their current location, 410 University Pkwy, Ste 1520 in Aiken, SC, until the construction is complete. They intend to be in their new building within the year.
